How do I make my parents agree to let my move myself into a room downstairs?
My room is currently the one across from my parents’ upstairs. It hasn’t changed much since I was 16 (I am now twenty). Frankly, I’m bored of it and I need a change. Also, being 20, I need to feel a little more independent and I’m in need of my own space. The room downstairs is in need of some serious renovations (paint, tiles or carpet – it currently has neither, some sort of wall put up (it has half a wall, and no door), and something down about the ceiling light). My parents currently use this room as the exercise/band equipment room; basically, it’s somewhat of a storage/junk room. I want to take this junky little room and make it my project; I want to transform it into a nice little room that one could actually live in. There are other places they could store their band and exercise equipment. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could tell them to try and persuade them to let me take over the room downstairs?
ask them…. and let them know how you’d like to fix it up. worst they can say is "no".
