I have a john Lewis ceiling light with a nut that holds the Lampshade?

I have a celing light from John lewis and to undo the lampshad I have to unscrew a round nut, inside the shade but its hard to get to by using hands, as its lightshades are facing the ceiling. what is it called and where can i get the metal piece to unscrew this nut the light bulbs are G9 Halogen bulbs

I sometimes struggle to get my finger(s) inside small shades when installing some lights. I always manage though!! Try turning the shade backwards slightly to loosen the nut and then use one finger to ‘flick’ the lockring off. You should not need to remove the shades to replace the lamps, they should just pull straight out. There is no special tool for these type of shade fittings, all you could use would be a pair of long nosed pliers.

  1. Only a nut would buy it….

  2. Tell the nut who’s holding the lampshade to fix it for you.
