How do you fit a flush ceiling light where a rose light used to be?

I have a rose light in my hallway but want to change to a flush ceiling light as it keeps getting knocked when I open the door. Does anyone know which wires go where as when I unscrewed the rose light there seemed to be 6 wires yet only 3 spaces in the flush ceiling fitting! Any help much appreciated.

    If you haven’t unravelled the wires, and they are coupled in sets of 3, 2 &1 for example, then you refit these directly into the new fitting. If you have taken them apart then you may need to seek the advice of an electrician, but don’t do any guess-work, it could be dangerous.
