How do I wire a ceiling light?

I pulled an old light fixture and found two black wires coming from the ceiling wired together (not used in old fixture) two white wires coming from the ceiling connected to two white wires on the old light and one red wire from the house connecting to two black wires on the old light.
My new light has one black, one white and a ground. How do I wire this?

The red one is for connecting multiple switches to it. you wont need it

just connect the Hot(black)
and the white

  2. The black wires are always hot. Leave them alone. The red wires are hot, but controlled by the switch. These go to the black wires on the fixture. The whites are neutral, and go to the white wires on your fixture. Connect the ground to ground as before.
